In New South Wales, the government has introduced two fantastic initiatives to support parents and guardians in promoting physical activity and creative pursuits for their children. The NSW Active Kids Voucher and Creative Kids Voucher programs are designed to provide financial assistance to families, enabling children to participate in sports and creative activities.
The Two Vouchers
NSW Active Kids Voucher Program
The NSW Active Kids Voucher Program is a government-funded initiative aimed at encouraging children to lead an active lifestyle. With this program, parents, guardians, and carers can claim two $100 vouchers per year per child to help cover the costs of sports and active recreation activities.
NSW Creative Kids Voucher Program
Similarly, the NSW Creative Kids Voucher Program aims to foster creativity and cultural engagement among school-aged children. With this program, parents, guardians, and carers can also claim a $100 voucher per child each year for various creative activities such as art, music, dance, and drama lessons.
Eligibility and Application
To be eligible for the Creative Kids Voucher or the Active Kids Voucher, your child must be between the ages of 4.5 and 18 years old and enrolled in school in New South Wales. The application process for both vouchers is done online through the NSW Government website. Make sure to have your Medicare card ready when applying for a voucher!
Using the Voucher
Once you have obtained any or both of the vouchers, you can use them with any registered activity provider. If you apply for the Creative Kids Voucher, your kids can enjoy a diverse range of creative and cultural activities, including art classes, music lessons, dance workshops, and more. On the other hand, the Active Kids Voucher will allow your children to join a wide range of sports, fitness, and active recreation programs for children. The vouchers can be used to cover the costs of registration, participation fees, memberships, and materials for any eligible program.
