Dance The Summer Away

New year, new grooves! We’ve just entered the new decade and are diving in headfirst into the first month, feeling the warm sunshine on our skin. It’s summer yet again—the season for pools and beaches (whichever you prefer), tropical drinks, and summer classes! Is brushing up your dance skills among your new year’s resolutions? Or are you looking to pick up a new hobby? Either way, jazz up your summer with dance classes here at N2! On our first blog for 2021, allow us to convince you why you should Dance The Summer Away with us!

  1. Summer body? I’m ready!

Are you interested in losing a few kilos just in time for the beach season? Do you want to tone your body and shake off some fat? Sure, traditional exercise or going to the gym might do the trick, but for an unconventional yet more exciting way, go for dancing! Not only does it burn your calories, but it also helps you increase muscle tone. At the end of the classes, you won’t even realize how much weight you’ve lost because of all the fun that you’ve been having!

According to Healthline, a person who weighs 70 kilos can burn the following amount of calories in 30 minutes of each activity: 179 calories for ballet, 207 calories for hip hop, and 164 calories for tap dancing. There was nothing written for jazz, but with its vigorous movements, we can only assume that it burns just as much as the other three.

  • Bad luck, boredom struck!

The summer vacation is quite a long one, considering that kids won’t be back to school till February. At this time, they’d most probably just want to sit all day in front of the television—either binging shows or playing video games. But you wouldn’t want that, right? The World Health Organization (WHO) recognized some downsides to the previously-mentioned recreational activities, including poorer eyesight and negligence to healthy habits. Anyway, all these to say, the vacant period might be the perfect time to engage them in dancing!

Aside from the numerous health benefits that dancing has to offer, it’s also a great way to unwind and have fun with others. Have your kids enrolled in our school for the ultimate summer dance class experience!

  • Dance friends till the end!

Forge a lifelong friendship or build a social circle by joining a dance class. It’s an easy way to meet new people and a great place to hang out with your new crew!

Summer dance classes such as this pave the way for one to meet new people they wouldn’t’ve met otherwise. As they also say, birds of a feather flock together. Maintain your love for dance by being surrounded by people who share the same passion and mindset as yours.

  • Be somebody with a new hobby!

Stuck in a rut? That can definitely get exhausting. Whether you’re a homebody, a worker, or a student, the mundane repetitions will eventually drain the life out of you if you just keep on shrugging it off. A survey from a few years ago has found that “more than a quarter of Aussies are stressed and anxious,” and it seems that a primary contributor to the feelings of negativity is burnout. If you can relate or find yourself experiencing fatigue, demotivation, and low morale, among other similar symptoms, then it’s high time to do something about it.

We recommend a change in routine and what better addition to your lifestyle than joining a summer dance class? Slip away from the frustrations of life and dance with us! Allow N2 to be your stress-free, fun-filled haven.

Also, did you know that dancing triggers the brain to release three feel-good hormones? Proof that grooving to the beat can significantly help lift your spirits!

  • Endorphins – relieves pain and enhances feelings of well-being
  • Dopamine – responsible for movements; dancing is used as therapy for patients with Parkinson’s Disease (which is signified by low levels of dopamine)
  • Oxytocin – popularly known as the “love hormone” which allows us to be more social towards others

Well, that’s enough psych talk for today! Above are the reasons why you should come see us for the summer (even beyond it, if you’d like), and whether you find them persuasive or not, we’d love to have you for a free trial! Reach out to us on 0422 939 749 for more details.
