How do we start?

Firstly, congratulations on taking the first step! Your child’s first dance class is such an exciting milestone and we can’t wait to welcome you into the N2 Dance family.

At N2 Dance Productions, we offer a no-obligation trial for all new students. You’re welcome to try as many classes as you like in your first week, and you’ll only be charged for the lesson of the class(es) you decide to enrol into - easy as that!

Are parents allowed to watch classes?

We completely understand that parents want to see where their children are learning. Wherever possible, parents are welcome to watch trial classes so you can get a feel for our community and teaching approach.

Once enrolled, classes are closed during the term to ensure students can focus and feel confident without distractions. Over many years, we’ve found that children learn best in a calm, supportive environment. Fewer interruptions mean more progress and joy in every class.

We do open our doors again for “Open Class Week” in the final weeks of each term, when families are invited to watch and celebrate what their dancers have been working on.

Do I need shoes and uniform for my trial class?

Not unless you already have them! For your trial class, simply wear something comfortable and fitted that allows movement. Younger students might like to wear a skirt or leggings - that's perfect too!

You’re welcome to dance in bare feet or socks for the first class.

Once you decide to enrol, you can purchase all uniforms and shoes directly through N2 Dance for convenience.

What if I start mid-term?

No problem! You’ll only be charged for the number of classes remaining in the term - including your trial class.

Our teachers are experienced at helping new students join mid-term, so your child will feel supported and included from their very first lesson.

Are Examinations and Concerts Compulsory?

Not at all! Both are optional experiences, but we find that many families love participating.

Examinations give students the opportunity to:

• Build confidence and goal-setting skills
• Receive feedback from accredited examiners
• Celebrate progress in a positive, structured way

Our Annual Concert is the highlight of the year, held in a professional, supportive performance held at a theatre usually in November.

We are also excited to introduce our Mid Year Showcase which allows students an opportunity to perform in a different setting. Stay tuned as we release more information in 2026.

Every student is invited to perform on stage and experience the excitement of dancing in a real theatre environment, surrounded by friends and family.

What style should my child start with?

That depends on their personality and interests!

• Ballet – builds coordination, posture, and musicality.
• Jazz – fun, energetic, and expressive.
• Hip Hop – confident, rhythmic, and cool.
• Tap – focuses on rhythm and timing.
• Lyrical & Contemporary – emotional storytelling through dance.

If you’re unsure, we recommend booking a trial class in more than one style to see what your child enjoys most! Most classes are offered back to back to allow those wanting to take a few sessions without the hassle of coming multiple times a week!

What age can my child start dancing?

We welcome dancers from 2 years and up!

Our programs are tailored for each developmental stage; from preschool and Kinderballet programs through to advanced teen classes.

Each level focuses on technique, creativity, and confidence, while ensuring age-appropriate movement and music.
